Our Vision

Preparing our tamariki for tomorrows' challenges

Nau mai haere mai!

Linkwater School is a coeducational full primary (years 1-8) school with a school roll of around 35.

The school draws its students from a vibrant community ranging from multi-generational farming families to families that have moved to the area more recently.

Linkwater School thrives on community input, and the grounds particularly are a product of this strong community support. Some examples are the bike track, tunnel house, multi-purpose court and orchard.  Our pool and large playing field are enjoyed by our students and the wider community.

The school has a well-stocked library and a strong IT programme to ensure our children are keeping up with the skills required to be 21st century lifelong learners. Several external programmes, such as Kiwi Can, Enviroschools and the Kids Edible Garden Programme are an integral part of the school week.

Our school promotes education outside the classroom to give purpose and context to learning.  Our children are involved in overnight camps, skiing, fundamental skills, music festivals, inter-school activities with our Pelorus Schools' cluster.  The students also work on community projects such as the Kaipupu Point restoration and Link Pathway. We have the perfect role model with Anakiwa Outward Bound just around the corner.

Our Guiding Principles

At Linkwater School we encourage our tamariki and school community to be guided by the following principles:
